SP35 Overhaul

Monday, February 1st, 2010

If you know anything about SP, you probably know that whenever we focus on a build we make sure to do it right the first time. We have succeeded in building many 1000+hp vehicles throughout the years we’ve been open, and we dont plan on stopping any time soon.

Since the VR38’s release just a couple of years ago, we have been dedicating a lot of our time and effort in understanding what would be most beneficial for this platform. After sampling simple upgrades like the HKS GT570 kit, then upgrading to the Greddy twin turbo 20G kit, we have finally dropped the motor for a little more extensive research. This time around we decided to beef up some of the internals. We purchased a set of Carrillo rods, and CP pistons for this conservative build.

One thing that is noticeable unconventional will be the new wastegate return pipes. We decided to allow the vented chambers to release into the atmosphere resulting in that oh so beautiful sound we all love to hear from turbocharged beasts. Do we feel a trend arising? We’ll see after we get this beast back on the dyno with some video footage for all you folks. Stay tuned!!
