Recently we completed a few updates to our good friend Jerry’s R32 GT-R.  Installation of  an OS-88 Six Speed Sequential Transmission for the RB26DETT,  as well as ACPT carbon fiber drive shaft.

From OS Giken:

“We have designed this sequential transmission to specifically fit the engine characteristics of Nissan’s RB26DETT engine to allow it to perform to its maximum potential. To withstand the incredible punishment a race tuned RB26DETT is capable of delivering to the drive train, we have used carefully selected forged and reinforced materials. By optimizing gear size and settings, we have increased the gear axis distance to 88mm, resulting in a 6-speed sequential transmission capable of withstanding up to 1500 horsepower. In addition, our original dog linked mechanism OS-88 Six Speed Sequential Transmission for RB26DETT

enables accurate shift changes, as well as providing a positive shift feel. Each unit is hand made and thoroughly examined to our exacting standards prior to shipment to ensure the highest quality.”

We also revised the existing engine oil catch reservoir  to accommodate the transmission oil.

“In addition to minimizing rotational power losses, carbon fiber’s unique vibration dampening characteristics also help improve power output. Engine builder’s are familiar with the power gains that high performance crank dampeners can provide. Recently the Bossman scooped himself up a brand new 2012 BMW X5M.  Of course the SUV needed the SP Engineering signature treatment so on the to do list was:

• Akrapovic turbo back titanium exhaust system
• Installation of H&R lowering springs
• Vorsteiner carbon fiber front lip
• 22” Forgestar F14 wheels

Here you can see the difference between the stock exhaust system (left) and Akrapovic’s titanium exhaust system (right) installed. The aftermarket titanium system is so much lighter than stock its amazing.

Installation of H&R springs to give the X5M a lower center of gravity and a sportier look.

We also fitted the X5M with a Vorsteiners carbon fiber front lip.

And lastly the cherry on top was fitting a new set of 22” Forgestar F14 wheels in their new Graphite Black Powdercoat.

With all the new upgrades the Bossman’s X5M received, it now looks like a true fighter ready for battle.

Recently we had a customer visit SP wanting to squeeze a bit more power out of his stock turbos.  The perfect solution for this was to set him up with our SPE650 package, and once ready upgrade to our SPE750R package.

On the to do list:

• TiTek Race exhaust
• TiTek resonated mid-pipe
• TiTek 90mm down pipes
• ID1000cc injectors
• GOT BOOST 3″ intakes
• COBB AccessPORT with SPE91 octane tune

The ultimate goal with our SPE650 package is to increase performance of the factory intake system, increase horsepower with our turbo back TiTek exhaust system, as well as increase overall feeling and response.  All goals in-conjunction create a foolproof reliable horsepower launched GT-R.

We’ve got another story to bring to you guys. This time around we have a 2009 GT-R that belongs to a road and track race enthusiast.

Our client takes his GT-R to the track on a regularly basis, putting his VR38DETT to work. He’s content and happy with the stock turbos on the GT-R, but wants to make sure his motors reliable and able to handle itself with no limitations at the track. Based on our experiences with the Nissan GT-R and the VR38DETT platform our client felt more than comfortable dropping off his GT-R with us knowing his expectations will be met.

The decision was to go with our built longblock. Included are 96mm bore CP pistons, Carillo H Beam rods, and Cosworth metal head gasket.

We hope puts his newly strengthened motor to use at the track.

You might remember this E63 AMG from a previous visit where we worked on lowering the car.  This time installation on a set of COR Forged Wheels was on the to-do list.

COR Forged Cipher’s were the style of choice completed in a Titanium finish with carbon fiber lips.
20×8 front//20×11 rears

These COR cipher wheels definitely set off the E63, and we hope the owner enjoys his new look.

Our good friend Charlie is back for more upgrades on his MY12 GT-R.  You might remember this car from a previous blog update in which we installed KW Sleeve kit as well as a few other upgrades which can be found here.

For this next visit Charlie wanted to achieve some quick efficient power.  On the to-do list this time around was

• TiTek 90mm down pipes
• TiTek mid pipe
• TiTek race exhaust (previously installed)
• Sprayitracing 1000cc injectors
• SPE Tune

With these upgrades his goals were not to only make horsepower, but more importantly needed to have response throughout the entire power band.

**Also note Charlies new look for the new year, exterior modifications consist of Volk Advan rz-df,  STILLEN front lip and STILLEN side skirts.

We hope that Charlie enjoys his new setup, and has fun at the track.

Upon our arrival we headed to Performance Shop owned by Mr. Khalid Ben Hathir. I would like to personally thank him and his crew for allowing us to work in his shop throughout our stay in Dubai. He and his team were responsible for installing the packages (Engine, Turbo Kit, Fuel System) we have shipped from the states before our arrival to tune.

I would also like to thank Mr. Moosa Suwaidan of Panda Performance for allowing us to use his facility. We have experienced major problems with the previous dyno and could not have completed any tuning without he and his crew.

On the drive there we were surrounded by a good amount of fog which made for a cool looking adventure.

This was my first time making it out to Cars and Coffee.  I’d have to say if you’re looking to get an early start to your weekend this is the place to come to.

There were plenty of cars to snap pictures of. Everyone in attendance seemed to have a DSLR in their hands pointing it at every exotic car that they came across haha. I snapped pictures sparingly, anyhow enjoy.
