Last time we featured our project EVO, we showed you the suspension install, the new wheels, and some of the carbon bits…this episode we bring you a complete Titek carbon grill install!!
We decided to write a rough tutorial, photograph AND film this episode of our build. This should help any of your DIY tuners who want to purchase the Titek carbon grill for your EVOx, and would like to install it yourself. Be warned though…it takes a lot of patience, and there are a shit load of screws! You can blame Mitsubishi for that!
Total install time with professional equip: roughly 30 minutes
Step One: jack up the car, unbolt the wheels
Step Two: Pry the plastic fasteners off the wheel well lining, unbolt bolts under the bumper
Step Three: Remove cooling plate
Step Four: Pry off plastic fasteners behind grill, unplug plug
Step Five: Take off the bumper, and be ready to unscrew like you’ve never unscrewed before
Step Six: Those screws I was talking about? Yeah those are in this step, and yes you do need to unscrew all of the ones you see
Step Seven: Take off the chicken wire, and unbolt the actual grill
Step Eight: Take step six and work your way backwards to install the carbon grill
The process is fairly simple, and self explanatory. With any experience you should have this done within an hour. Please be advised that I am not a tech, and I am basing this tutorial solely off what I have seen. Good luck, and have fun! The film will be available soon!
