The Black Mamba – the fastest, most feared, and dangerous snake from Africa. It’s also the nickname of NBA all-star Kobe Bryant. Whichever way you like to think of it, the name black mamba pretty much equates to BAD-ASS.

Hence the reason why the name is so synonymous with this Nissan R35 GT-R. This beast is owned by none other than Ray Hofman, President and CEO of Peak Completions. You might be familiar with the name, and if you’re not, Peak Completions actually brought their Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 to us by referral from Jason Heffner which is also on our site.

Peak Completions is an “oil and gas technology company, which designs tools to enhance oil and gas production while reducing costs”, and is headquartered in Midland, TX. So if you’re ever in the need to get your oil pumped, this is the place to hit up!

Peak dropped off this beauty basically in stock form from the dealer, with the exception of a set of Cobb coilovers. Once all the parts were in, our techs went to work.

Most of the internal plumbing was upgraded with a HKS GT570 kit, which is linked up to a Greddy intercooler to warrant a massive amount of O2 consumption. With that amount of air intake, there needs to be a proper volume of fuel disbursement. Which is why our techs installed a set of 800cc Fuel Injectors designed by Titek USA. To balance out the air/fuel mixture, the HKS GT570 kit includes Super Fire Racing spark plugs. All exhaust flow is exited through a Titek titanium midpipe linked to a full titanium catback exhaust.

To allow easier installation, our techs decided to bolt on all the cosmetic pieces while most of the front end was disassembled. Ray opted to purchase every Titek carbon piece to produce the look he had envisioned. Most people think carbon on a black car wouldn’t stand out much, but they’d be very much wrong if they were to see this beauty in person. The glossy carbon accents the body lines so well that the only feeling you’re left with when seeing this combination is envy. The GT-R was laced from head to toe with carbon parts including a front lip, grill, hood vents, rear trunk spoiler, and exhaust shrouds. You can even find carbon under the hood in the form of an engine cover. Ray also decided to decorate the cabin by adding a carbon gauge bezel, pair of side vents, and a center shifter console which house the HKS AFK, and EVC units.

The only thing left to replace were the wheels. Peak decided to go with a set of 21″ HRE 843R three-piece forged wheels in black with a chrome lip mounted to Yokohama Advan stickies.

After tuning the car on Cobb AP Custom Tuned Maps, we had the GT-R on its way back to Ray for his enjoyment. When asked how he likes the car since completion Ray stated, “i guess i like it ok LOL actually I love the car! Flawless tune and powerband… super super car!!”

Future plans for the Nissan R35 “would be to change out the Cobb suspension and go with 20″ lightweight wheels instead of the 21″ HRE as Alex suggested”, says Ray Hofman
